Free Range

Is there anything more glorious than the rich orange yolk of a free-range egg?  We recently discovered a farm where the hens are free to roam all day and they are fed an organic diet of corn, maize, flax (for Omega 3) and of course, anything that they scratch up from the farmyard.

Last week, we made another trip to get eggs.  It is quite a long way from home, but definitely worth the drive.  As for the size of some of the eggs, they have to be seen to be believed.  This was one enormous and very tasty lunch with fresh wholemeal toast.

Oh, nothing tastes so good as farm-fresh eggs! Been so long since I've had one of those. We usually get the free-range ones from the supermarket--best option so far. I love a soft boiled with toast soldiers at the weekend...mmm... ;o) Happy Week, Marie ((HUGS))

Reminds me of the days spent on my grandmother's farm. Chickens free to range and we as children reaping the benefits of a delicious breakfast of wonderful eggs!:o)

Like Tracy, its been a long time since I've eaten farm fresh eggs, but do enjoy Eggland's Best which for me is quite yummy and a healthy alternative to most eggs.:o)

By the way, how is the gardening coming.:o) Your lovely garden post was certainly beautiful and inspiring. Continue to enjoy a lovely week Dear Marie.

Smiles♥
