It is hard to believe but we are almost half-way through August. Where has summer gone?

We had the most spectacular storm last weekend, but as the camera was in the car at the time, I didn't manage to get any photographs! There were tornado warnings issued for rural areas south-west of us, but I didn't hear of any actually touching down. The winds and rain were unbelievable gusting at 100 km/hr and the sky was pink when the lightning appeared.

It got dark about an hour before sunset and this added to the drama. Thankfully, I arrived home from work long before the worst of the storm hit. It seems that every time I venture out these days, I get soaked in the latest torrential downpour.

Speaking of work, I started a new job a couple of weeks ago, which is why my blog has been somewhat neglected. I am trying to combine working part-time and going through orientation with studying for my university course and it is all a bit too much. I feel that things will settle down once I get into some sort of a routine, but our home is neglected and the laundry is piling up; I couldn't find anything to cook for dinner last night and all I really wanted to do was put my feet up.

It looks like I am going to have to catch up with the laundry as well as doing lesson preparation for this weekend's class ~ I think that I forgot to mention that my new job involves teaching expectant parents about preparation for labour, birth and breastfeeding. This will be my first weekend of teaching on my own and some of these classes have as many as 24 participants.

I hope that your summer is going well and thank you for continuing to visit my blog. Your comments are appreciated and I will do my best to visit in return when I have a spare moment.
