Tall Ships Visit Toronto

We took the opportunity this weekend to visit the tall ships which are visiting Toronto for a few days. The Pride of Baltimore II is a topsail schooner built as a replica of a classic 1812 Baltimore Clipper. She is owned by the state of Maryland and is participating in a Tall Ships Nova Scotia tour this summer.

Canada's Bluenose II sails out of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and is a replica of the original Bluenose fishing schooner which was built in 1921.

Sadly, the sun chose not to shine during our visit. As you can see from the last photograph, the tall ships draw quite a crowd. It was impossible to get good photos on deck due to the number of people aboard.

Needless to say, we had a glorious afternoon and bright sunshine after our visit!
