At One With Nature

We returned from a few days away last week, having paid a return visit to a resort on the border of Algonquin Park. Some of you may remember that I posted about our last visit here. This is the first time that we have visited during the summer months and we had the hottest weather and most sunshine of the entire summer.

This is the scene that greeted us on our first morning after the fog lifted from the lake and the sun came out. There is still a hint of morning mist above the lake.

We ventured out in a motor boat and were able to explore the full length of the lake for the first time. On previous visits, we had been restricted in terms of distance travelled because we had gone out by canoe. Actually, we did make a short canoe trip on our last morning, which was very peaceful, but I am still feeling the effects of all that paddling!

We found the wildlife very tame ~ at least this chipmunk, who showed up frequently for tasty snacks of sunflower seeds and peanuts. As you can probably tell from the photograph, he was pouching most of them and then disappearing off into the bush to hide them for later.

We had a peaceful and relaxing break and feel refreshed for getting away from the city to enjoy nature.

On a personal note, I have really enjoyed taking a blogging break and now hope to catch up with you all over the next week or so. It is always good to have a change of scene and new experiences, but it is also good to be back at home and slowly adjusting to my normal routine.

What a wonderful break away from the demands of ordinary, everyday life. Connecting with nature has a way of calming and soothing the stresses away doesn't it? That's a seriously cute but obviously very well-fed chipmunk! Jx

I am glad you are back Marie. Enjoyed this little tour with you. So good to see different parts of the world.

So your Mum lives near Ripley. What a small world it is. I'm glad I can give you a taste of Yorkshire and there's lots more tocome.

Welcome back Marie! I am still at Cranberry Cottage and have limited online time. I try and visit a one or two blogs a day. I am glad I am able to comment on yours as you do not have a pop up window. It looks like you had a great time out in nature and time to regather yourself for the coming time. Will you have lots of fairs to attend now that autumn is starting?

Hugs from Cranberry Cottage ~
Heidi
