Coastal Dreams

Last week, one of my favourite magazines appeared in on the newstand. Living so far from the UK, Coast does take a while to arrive ~ while I am dipping into October's issue, no doubt you will be enjoying the November copy.

Life has been so hectic that I haven't had time to dip into it yet, but I plan to rectify that this week.

I recently completed this lighthouse bookmark, which was a gift from my sister Elise quite some time ago. I had been busy working on other needlework projects, so did not start this cross-stitch until a few weeks ago. I am delighted with the result, as the colours are so vibrant and contrast well with the blue background, although I have to admit that it was a challenge, as the stitches are tiny!

Two summers ago, Paul and I visited Nova Scotia. We stayed in a house by the ocean and found this beautiful coastal tableware in the kitchen. I fell in love with it and was determined to own a set. After searching on eBay for several weeks, I bid for this set and the seller kindly packaged and shipped it to me. She did such a great job that all 16 pieces arrived intact.

I'm saving it for the day when I have my own coastal kitchen.
